Youth Under 18 (U18) Registration 

(All members have to between the ages of 14-17 years)

$500 per 14-person team
Registration fee includes:

  • Participation in festival races

  • 1 hour practice session (2027 schedule to be announced)

  • 10x10 ft tent at the festival

  • 1 case of water/day

(This is the only 500m category)

Rules & Regulations

At all times, personal safety and care of equipment are of uttermost importance   

           
On The Water                         
1     All Racers must wear a top and a personal flotation device  (life jacket) 

2    All U-18 Racers must be swimmers 14 years and older          
3    No alcohol is to be consumed before and during practice  or during races         
4    No loud and abusive language               
5    Care for equipment          
6    Adopt a "Buddy System"  so in case of emergency, you know where your buddy is    
7    If boat turns over,the captain will account for all - Hold onto boat until help arrives     

   
Out of water               
1     Boats to be launched with minimum of eight persons                    
2    Boats must be lifted using designated lifting handles                    
3    Boats must not be dropped, dragged, pushed, pulled, or rotated on sand
4    Boats must not be placed on any hard surface e.g. stones/rocks/coral                   
5    Paddles must not be dragged on the sand/ground or come into contact with hard surfaces 

6    Paddles should not be stuck into the sand or used to push off or shove off  the beach             

7    Paddles should be held and carried with blades up and handles down 

8    All equipment - paddles and life jackets - should not be left on the beach

9    All equipment must be rinsed with fresh water after use then hang to dry
